Vodafone delivers up to 20GB ’double data’ for new Red customers Featured

By

Although we’re still some time away before 20GB per month plans are normal for mobile broadband, Vodafone’s ‘double data’ plan offers a way to get it.

When the world is finally connected to 5G networks, whether delivered by the successor to 4G technologies or new developments such as Artemis pCells, tens of gigabytes per month via mobile will be normal.

But as we rewind back to the present in 2015, 20GB per month is an unaffordable mobile pipe dream for most consumers and businesses - except when special offers roll around.

The newest special offer on offer comes from Vodafone, which has brought back its ‘double data’ deals until 2 June 2015, with the most expensive plan, seemingly for business only, offering 20GB of data per month, for $130 per month, over 24 months.

In addition, Vodafone is offering double the usual data allowance for use in Australia on a range of other month-to-month, 12 and 24 month Red plans for consumers and business for up to 24 months.

For those newly connecting to a ‘personal Red plan’ online, Vodafone says it is ‘also offering an additional bonus 1GB of data per month for up to 24 months’.

Ben McIntosh, Vodafone’s Director of Sales said: “As streaming mobile entertainment becomes increasingly popular, and more of us take advantage of fast 4G speeds, Vodafone is upping the ante and giving Australians a better data deal when they need it most.

“Only on Vodafone can you receive double the data for the same price, while also enjoying our most premium experiences, including access to $5 Roaming, Data Workout and the choice of a subscription to Stan, Spotify Premium or The Age/Sydney Morning Herald online.”

Vodafone reminds us all that its Red plans offer infinite standard national calls and standard TXT, the new generous data allowances, 300 international minutes every month, the ability to roam to 47 other countries for $5 per extra, music and news subscriptions as McIntosh mentions above and the also aforementioned ‘Data Workout’ which gives Voda’s new customers ‘unlimited data when in Australia for the first two months of any 24-month contract.’

Here are the headline details of the double data deals:
