Mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) and online shopping destination Yatango has come out swinging against new competitors such as MeU Mobile and existing players such as Amaysim and Boost, let alone the major telcos, by improving its plans.
Yatango says, quite plainly, that its unlimited plans ‘have dropped in price and increased in data.’
This in addition to the existing ‘no lock-in contracts, month to month flexibility and BYO phone.’
Yatango also dangles its tagline of ‘the freedom to create your perfect plan.’

Well, the cheapest is a $23.90 per month plan, offering unlimited voice and SMS and 4G data at 5c per megabyte.
Then you have the $29.90, the $39.90 and the $49.90 per month plans.
Each offers the same unlimited voice and SMS, but the difference is 1,5GB, 4GB and 6GB of data, respectively - with all voice and data delivered via the Optus network.
The price per megabyte once you’ve reached your data limits is 5c per megabyte, which is approximately $50 per gigabyte.
That’s a lot more expensive than plans that offer 1GB of data for $10, so you’ll want to make sure you use Wi-Fi where possible and only use the data you’ve been allocated in your plan.
That said, the $23.90 plan is perfect for anyone that has no need for 3G or 4G data, and just wants unlimited voice and SMS, while the other three plans compete nicely with the various MVNO plans out there - with and without unlimited voice and SMS.
So - the MVNO market keeps on moving with everyone vying for the customer - let’s hope we see some of the other MVNO players shake things up even further!
