iiNet's Fetch TV is no longer available for purchase, according to a statement released on the company's website.

iiNet said customers with an existing iiNet TV that features Fetch service will be able to continue to manage their account via Toolbox and the iiNet TV menu through their set-top boxes.

iiNet was using its Fetch TV set-top boxes to offer its fixed-line customers access to the recently launched Netflix service.

The removal of the Fetch TV product comes days after TPG took control of iiNet in a deal worth around AU$1.5 billion.

As a result, TPG is now Australia's second-largest fixed-line telco eclipsing Optus, increasing its customer base to 1.7 million.

Late last month, iiNet shareholders also voted in favour of the takeover, with 95.09 percent voting in favour and only 4.91 percent voting against. A total of 105.8 million shares voted on the resolution, with 100.63 million votes in favour and 5.2 million votes against. Almost 90 percent (89.93 percent) of shareholders voted in favour of the deal, with the majority decision of votes also easily reached.

ZDNet has contacted TPG for comment.
