Telstra rolls over and offers data/call credit roll over on pre-paid

By

Telstra’s Pre-Paid Freedom Plus plans now come with data and call credit roll over, matching some competitors at long last with much better value.

Telstra’s Director of pre-paid mobile products, Maryanna Tsiatsias, has announced Telstra has rolled over on roll over

It’s a circular tumble that we’ve been waiting on Telstra to make for a while now, but the day has come when Telstra is finally giving that extra bit more to its pre-paid customers.

Tsiatsias noted her friends, family and Telstra’s customers have been asking ‘for a little bit more’ with pre-paid customers having ‘started to ask for more freedom to keep what they have paid for, rather than lose it at the end of the recharge period.’

Now, if we’re going to be absolutely honest about things, Telstra’s customers have probably been asking the telco to do this for a lot longer that Tsiatsias wants to admit, but hey - better late than never.

Indeed, Tsiatsias notes that the ability to roll over credit is ‘particularly important when it comes to data.’

Acknowledging Telstra’s customers are ‘hungry for more data,’ and that ‘they don’t like seeing unused inclusions go to waste when they recharge,’ Tsiatsias then announces the issued is being addressed ‘with the introduction of data roll over on Telstra Pre-Paid Freedom Plus.’

So, how will Telstra’s implementation of roll over work?

Well, Tsiatsias explains that, ‘from today, customers on Freedom Plus who recharge $30 or more will be eligible to roll over their unused data to their next recharge, so long as they recharge before their credit expires. This means our customers have an extra 28 days to use rolled over data, before it expires.’

Of course we can’t let mention of this ’28 days’ business go by without noting the stark fact that there are THIRTEEN 28 day periods in a year. It takes a telco to figure out a way to get paid 13 times in a 12 month period, but that’s the way the cookie crumbles and the data rolls over.

That aside, Tsiatsias notes that Telstra has also ‘packed even more inclusions into Freedom Plus to ensure our customers continue to enjoy the things they love on Australia’s best mobile network.’

These include:

  • Roll over for unused Call Credit, so customers can bank credit for the calls you don’t make. Customers just need to recharge before their recharge expiry to benefit
  • Increased Call Credit and Data allowances on Telstra’s $40 and $50 recharge
  • The ability for customers to use their Call Credit for both domestic and international calls, plus voicemail retrieval
  • Continuing to provide unlimited calls to standard Telstra mobiles and unlimited texts to standard Australia numbers
  • Introducing two new value Top Up Packs for customers to easily access additional credit and data if and when they need it

Tsiatsias ends by noting the company’s excitement ‘that our customers can now do even more of what they love on Telstra Pre-Paid Freedom Plus.’
