Presto is Foxtel’s Australian answer to Netflix, and is battling it out with top notch TV show and movie content in the push to win the hearts, minds, wallets and streams of Australians.
To do that, Presto needs to have plenty of steak to go with the sizzle, and judging by the line-up this month, Presto has done a great job of doing just that.
On the TV show front, titles such as the final season of Dexter joins the other six seasons, while the fifth season of The Walking Dead will make for compelling, zombie-filled, living dead viewing.
The world premier of ‘Let’s Talk About’ will have its world premiere in late October, written, produced and starring Matilda Brown, daughter of Australia TV legend Bryan Brown, who also stars in this 10-part series about being ‘up the duff,’ and we don’t mean cans of beer from The Simpsons.
Other hit programming arriving on Presto in October includes:
Halt and Catch Fire (season 1) – Return to 1980s where the PC era is about to catch fire and a renegade trio risks everything for their vision of building a computer that can change the future;
Wentworth (seasons 1-3) – Draws on characters and storylines of the iconic Prisoner series as it builds its own brave and bold, contemporary narrative behind the walls of Wentworth prison;
Mad Men (seasons 1-7) – Ad exec Don Draper navigates the high-pressure world of Madison Avenue advertising firms balancing his image of a top ad pro with his role as a family man;
30 Rock (seasons 1-7) – Based on the backstage antics at Saturday Night Live, 30 Rock centres on Liz Lemon (Tina Fey), head writer for a live sketch-comedy as she juggles all the egos that surround her while trying to chase her own dreams.

- On 4 October, Tom Cruise’s Minority Report makes the starting prediction you may well just be watching it, which is certainly no crime.

I’d include a link to Stan’s selection of October content too, but they obviously don’t read my articles.
Happy viewing!
