VIDEO INTERVIEW: Amaysim makes its pre-paid plans even more amazing Featured

By

Amaysim has made its plans so easy and generous, it feels consumers can cut through the confusion to make one simple decision: joining Amaysim.

Amaysim is the company that kicked off the current pre-paid revolution, with unlimited talk time and messages along with generous data plans at a range of price points to take the pre-paid challenge right up to its many and varied competitors.

The news is the latest in a string of ever better deals in the pre-paid industry from a range of MVNOs, from Boost on the Telstra network and Kogan on the Vodafone network alongside other MVNO launches and movements of late.

Striking back against all of these moves comes the original pre-paid revolutioniser with a refinement of its top two plans to deliver even better value and even better pricing, and giving Amaysim a top to bottom suite of plans for every price point.

Amaysim’s Unlimited voice and text plan with 5GB of 4G data via the Optus network is now back to a sub-$40 price at $39.90, which Amaysim bills as ‘one of the best plans under $40 on the market.’

It's a true statement - most plans cost more for less data, or limit when you can use the data you're paying for, thus ensuring Amaysim is raising the mobile bar and sending a signal to competitors and customers it means business and wants your business.

If you need 300 standard international minutes as well, the plan goes to $44.90 - but with 5GB of data, you can always use Skype, FaceTime or some other VoIP app to talk internationally if you just don’t make that many international phone calls.

Then there’s the Unlimited voice and text plan with 8GB of data for $49.90, which comes with those 300 minutes of international phone calls, a price reduction of $5 from the previous plan along with an extra gigabyte of data thrown in, which all current 'Unlimited 7GB' customers will be automatically moved to.

This 8GB of data (or the data allocation on any of Amaysim’s plans) can be used at any time during the 30 day pre-paid period - it doesn’t have to be used in the evening, or on the weekend to quality - but simply used whenever you want.

Here’s our video interview with Amaysim CEO, Julian Ogrin - the article continues below, please read on!

Amaysim says it is all part of its ‘approach to making mobile plans amazingly simple’, noting the recent Galaxy research it commissioned which revealed ‘the biggest causes of confusion when it comes to choosing a mobile plan are the way rates for data, calls and texts are quoted (29%) and estimating how much data to include in the plan (28%).’

Thus Amaysim, which is Australia’s fourth largest mobile service provider, has decided to once again throw down the gauntlet to competitors by simplifying its ‘Unlimited’ plan structure and upping the data on its premium plan for a lower price.

Naturally, the company bills this move as ‘yet another step in its mission to reduce the worries of everyday Aussies when it comes to their mobile phone bill, whether those are around understanding and comparing the plans on offer, or guessing which plan and data inclusion is right for them.’

These plans plus the 'Unlimited 2GB' and 'Unlimited 1GB' plans, which on top of their namesake data inclusions, also come with unlimited standard national talk and text, for $29.90 and $24.90 per month respectively make up Amaysim’s suite of Unlimited plans.

As always, these plans are powered by the Optus 4G Plus network.

So, what else did Amaysim’s research, conducted by Galaxy in September 2015 among a nationally representative sample of 1,000 Australians aged 18-64 that are currently on a post-paid mobile phone plan, uncover?

It also found that 58% of mobile phone-using Aussies believe a simple cost structure is essential in their mobile phone plan, while 50% said they believed they could get a better deal if they shopped around.

According to amaysim CEO, Julian Ogrin, the changes are yet another step towards ensuring Aussies have access to a suite of simply structured mobile plans which remove the worries that go with choosing a mobile plan.

“We’re more focused than ever on ensuring all of our 'Unlimited' mobile plans offer excellent value for customers old and new, while delivering on our commitment to be Australia’s ‘no worries’ telco,” Ogrin said.

“We know Aussies want simplicity and certainty from their day-to-day expenses, which is why we’ve moved to our ‘one decision’ mobile plan model – now the only decision Australians have to make is how much data they want each month.

“We also know while mobile data appetites and budgets come in all shapes and sizes, many people aren’t shopping around because of the misconception that it’s just too hard to switch. Sadly it’s also all-too-common that once people sign up to a mobile plan they don’t check every now and then to make sure they’re on the best deal for them.

“With that in mind, we’ll be letting customers know about our new plans and making it easy for them to switch at any time. This is a far cry from the old-school telco approach of leaving customers on old plans so as to squeeze a few more bucks out of them,” Ogrin concluded.

I can only imagine Ogrin might well think of his customers as Ogrinners with as big a smile on their faces as his at the improved value plans, and as we all know, Ogrinners are winners!

The article concludes below the ad, please read on.

The new additions mean amaysim now has a suite of 'Unlimited' plans ranging from 1GB to 8GB which caters to occasional, light, medium and heavy data users, with unlimited talk and text simply included as standard - no need to worry whether the person you’re calling is on the same network as you, or whatever other caveats, caps or artificial restrictions on call or data usage that apply with some competitors.

And because each plan is pre-paid for 30 days, rather than the 28 day plans you see on some competing pre-paid offers, it’s clear that Amaysim’s plans are simpler than ever to use and decide upon.

So, there you have it. The great MVNO battle for the hearts, minds, wallets, talk time and data usage of Australia’s mobile customers continues!
