Optus has announced the 2016/17 season of the English Premier League (EPL) will be available to new and existing customers on postpaid mobile, mobile broadband, and home broadband bundles for an extra AU$15 per month.

EPL streaming will also be included at no extra charge for eligible plans valued at AU$85 per month and above.

Optus added that customers accessing the 24/7 football channel from an eligible plan will not see the streaming service count towards their mobile, mobile broadband, or home broadband data allowance.

In addition, the streaming service will be offered on satellite for Optus customers who live in areas where Optus is unable to provide a broadband service or whose home broadband service doesn't support high-definition video content. This would set customers back an extra AU$20 per month, with a AU$250 one-off installation fee when they choose an EPL eligible plan.

The service, however, will be not be available for pre-paid mobile, home wireless broadband, and other older selected postpaid mobile and mobile broadband plans, the company said.

Customers will be able to pre-order their EPL subscription online from 15 May.

In March, Optus announced it will be broadcasting the EPL via its Optus TV platform on the Fetch set-top box, as well as through apps, a website, a satellite service for more remote viewers, and a sub-licence with the Special Broadcasting Service (SBS).

The availability of the EPL via Optus comes after the telco giant's parent company Singtel secured the rights in November to broadcast the next three seasons in Singapore for the third time running.

Optus also announced on Monday that it will be offering unlimited data to new and recontracting Optus customers as part of a new range of home broadband bundles.

Customers connected to the NBN, or Optus cable or ADSL 2+ networks can choose from three bundles: My Basics for AU$60 a month, which includes unlimited standard local calls to landlines; My Entertainment for AU$90 a month, which offers unlimited standard local, national, and mobile calls, and Yes TV by Fetch with a Connect Pack; and My Entertainment Plus for AU$120 a month with unlimited standard local, national, mobile, and international calls to selected countries, with Yes TV by Fetch with an Entertainment Pack.

Meanwhile, customers on the Optus DSL network can choose between one of the Optus Reach bundles: Reach Basics for AU$90 per month with unlimited standard local, national, and mobile calls; or Reach Entertainment Plus with unlimited standard local, national, mobile, and international calls to selected countries, with Yes TV by Fetch with the Entertainment Pack.
