Telstra customers lost access to their NBN services in NSW this afternoon in another network problem for the country's biggest telco.
Complaints began flooding in just before 3pm Friday about a lack of internet and home phone services, according to social media and outage tracker Aussie Outages.
"Home phone and Internet just stopped working 30 minutes ago. Not too good with 3 online businesses! Tried to call helpline and there's over a twenty minute wait. How do I get some help?," one user complained to the Facebook page.
The service issues are understood to mostly affect NSW customers, however, reports also came in from users around Melbourne and Brisbane.
The outage appeared on Telstra's service status page just after 3pm today, warning that customers may experience difficulties making or receiving calls, or accessing the internet, via Telstra's NBN service in NSW.
A Telstra spokesperson said the telco was aware of the issue and looking into the cause.
"[We] apologise for the inconvenience this is causing. We are doing everything we can to restore services as soon as possible," they said.
Telstra has been contacted for further detail.
The telco is the biggest reseller on the national broadband network, with 329,000 NBN customers nationally as at its half-year ended December last year. Just under 260,000 of those are bundled services, with 18,000 voice only.
Telstra has only just recovered from a network outage last night after two of its domain name servers stopped responding to queries from thousands of customer systems.
Two DNS servers used by customers for domain resolution, ns0 and ns1.telstra.net, went offline for around two hours following a failure with a component that manages traffic to the servers.
