What is download speed?

This is typically the speed you will see when you download a file in your web browser. Your download speed is directly linked to your line speed - the higher your line speed, the faster your download speed will be. Download speed is measured in KB/s (Kilobytes per second) and MB/s (Megabytes per second), where one byte is equal to 8 bits.

For example, if you are on a 25/5 NBN plan you can theoretically download at 3.125 megabytes per second.
