A “technical issue” with Optus’ 3G network caused mobile customers across some parts of Melbourne and regional Victoria to experience difficulty making calls, sending texts and using data today.
An Optus spokesperson confirmed the outage, stating “many of the affected areas have overlapping 3G coverage. Data, voice and SMS services on the 4G and 2G networks was unaffected”.
All services have now been restored. There have been no updates on Optus’ social media regarding the outage.
“Optus apologises to customers affected by the brief outage,” the spokesperson said.
