A text message has been sent out to Mate Communicate NBN customers advising of an outage in NSW.
“We have been advised by our provider that there is a current NBN Co outage across NSW. This is affecting ALL NBN users across NSW. We will provide more information as soon as it comes to hand.” the message reads.
The system status page on the mate Communicate website shows the outage, which is derscribed as “statewide” beginning at 12:20pm AEST today.

Other NBN users, including those in the Gizmodo office, haven’t reported any issues with their service.
Update: When contacted, a spokesperson for NBN told Gizmodo “There is no state-wide nbn outage in NSW. It appears to be a retailer issue.”
Mate Communicate confirmed this in a later tweet:

Gizmodo has contacted Mate Communicate for comment and further information, and will update as soon as we learn more.
