The move comes after the NBN Co announced a rebate of $160 to retail service providers for each user who takes up a 100Mbps plan between 21 January and 30 June 2019.
Called the Fast Anytime 100 Rebate, the details are buried in the company's discounts, credits and rebates list.
MyRepublic will probably not be the only RSP to offer discounted plans, now that NBN Co is giving providers an incentive to push these plans.

MyRepublic managing director Nicholas Demos said, in a statement announcing the new discounted 100Mbps plan: "Some industry leaders have said our country does not want fast Internet, which is blatantly not true. We are happy that NBN Co has finally recognised that Australians want super-fast Internet and we are delighted to provide the premium plans at a reasonable price to facilitate just that.
“MyRepublic is excited to announce the launch of a new promotion providing new MyRepublic customers with a premium speed plan with unlimited data and home phone calling at a competitive price point, enabling us to shift our focus back to the 100Mbps speed tier. The $79.95 per month price sits below other providers who retail similar plans for $100.00 and above.”
“The latest promotion is fantastic recognition from NBN that Australians are desperate for faster internet and it allows MyRepublic to provide pricing that will enable new customers to enjoy the unlimited potential of the premium 100Mbps speed tier.”
MyRepublic was selling 100Mbps plans for $69.95 back in 2017 but raised its prices to $89.95 in September last year.
The NBN Co's moves are geared towards raising its average revenue per user towards the figure of $52 which will enable it to break even.
The ARPU has been stuck at $44 for a while; it was at this level when the company announced its latest quarterly results, not moving an iota since its full-year 2018 results.
