France had the highest rank of any Western nations, ranking 10th with an average cost of US$0.20 per Mbps. An Asian country, Thailand, stood higher at 8th, with an average cost of US$0.18 per Mbps, while South Korea came in 11th (US$0.21).

New Zealand stood 48th when it came to the cost of an Mbps; its speed rank was 21st and its average price for a plan placed it at 113.
vouchercloud chief technology officer Geoff Parkhurst commented: "As we become evermore connected, it’s clear that the Internet is a utility, not a luxury.
"This research suggests that, on a global level, the quality of Internet varies hugely. Whilst Eastern Europe and East Asia provide their citizens with fast Internet at inexpensive prices, plenty of other countries are failing to do so. Western economies need to take note to avoid being left behind!"
