Lendlease scores new NBN infrastructure contract

By

Property and infrastructure group, Lendlease, has been contracted to deliver NBN network infrastructure in the Sydney North and Gold coast regions.

Under the contract, Lendlease will work with NBN CO on network upgrades and remediation to the NBN in the two regions, including new lead-ins to premises, in-building cabling and infill in nominated areas on the hybrid fibre coaxial (HFC) network.

The contract is new work for Lendlease which is already one of NBN Co’s delivery partners. Lendlease is delivering NBN in Orange and Wagga Wagga in New South Wales, Redcliffe in Queensland and Frankston in Victoria.

Lendlease says the delivery of network infrastructure in the Sydney North and Gold Coast regions will pass more than 90,000 premises in the first 12 months alone.

According to managing director of Lendlease’s Services business, Ashley Mason, the contract signifies the “increasing strength of Lendlease’s telecommunications capability”.

“Our telecommunications division is expanding rapidly as we continue to support our customers in the disciplined delivery of the nbn network, Australia’s largest infrastructure project.

“Our national expertise means we’re able to ramp up construction quickly to deliver NBN’s infrastructure safely and efficiently.”
