When Amaysim launched its long-awaited 4G plans in late March, there was happiness 4G had arrived at last.
Amaysim was already using the Optus 3G network, so when it went 4G, it was no surprise to see Amaysim using the Optus 4G Plus network to deliver the faster speeds.
However, there was also a little disappointment that the $44.95 plan had been reduced from 5GB to 4GB, but given the fact much faster 4G speeds had arrived, it wasn’t the end of the world.
Now, just a month after those 4G plans were unveiled, Amaysim has announced it is adding extra data to its plans, which is great news for current and future Amaysim customers!
The news follows Telstra adding data to its mobile plans, alongside Boost, an Amaysim MVNO competitor using the Telstra network, also impressively adding data to its $40 UNLTD plan.
Amaysim’s changes are impressive too, with the $54.90 6GB plan now offering 7GB of data, the $44.90 4GB plan now offering 5GB of data and for $29.90 Unlimited Text plan with 1.5GB of data now coming with 2GB of data.
Amaysim CEO Julian Ogrin said: “This isn’t a blink and you’ll miss it offer These are our new 4G plans. Full stop.
“The feedback we’ve received on our 4G plans has been great and what we’re doing now is giving people even more of a safety buffer and more data bang for their buck.
“This is all part of our mission to push down data-driven bill shock. With data use still increasing in leaps and bounds, we think this will be a welcome move.

“As of today, all current customers of the UNLIMITED 6GB, UNLIMITED 4GB and UNLIMITED TEXT 1.5GB plans will be moved on to the new plans at no additional charge," continued Ogrin.
“We’ve set ourselves the goal of being the no worries telco for the data generation and this is another instance of us putting our money, or megabytes as the case may be, where our mouth is and making sure that when it comes to mobile plans, Aussies really do have a solid choice that combines value with simplicity,” Ogrin concluded.
Yesterday, Amaysim announced it also won top spot Quality Service 2015 award for telecommunications in Reader’s Digest’s inaugural Quality Service Awards program, which you can read about here.
