Foxtel tweaks broadband prices

By

Foxtel has tweaked its broadband packages to offer lower prices in some cases, and more options in others, with the company also offering NBN connections on HFC.

Platinum HD customers can get unlimited broadband with a home phone for $65 per month on a contract-free basis.

Other existing customers can get unlimited broadband and a TV bundle for an additional $75 per month.

Those joining for the first time can get an entertainment TV pack for $101 per month or a platinum HD TV pack for $202 per month. This is on a 24-month plan.

Foxtel chief executive Peter Tonagh said: “At Foxtel, we are passionate about entertainment whether you’re watching a live game or bingeing on The Walking Dead.

"That’s why we pride ourselves on being a broadband provider where your service is specifically built for entertainment with NBN Co, unlimited streaming, a modem optimised for video, and HD certification from YouTube.

"We are also committed to our loyal customers, which is why we are offering our platinum subscribers a compelling low price, we won’t charge any upfront fees, and they can enjoy the flexibility of a no lock-in contract.”

He said with the addition of HFC, Foxtel had have secured the most important broadband technologies and could now service more than 92% of Australian households with either ADSL or NBN connectivity.

"Our new pricing puts us in a very competitive position and whether you’re an existing Foxtel customer or new to our service, our bundles are exceptionally attractive.”
