Optus says the site will play a key role in providing dedicated mobile reception to more than 300 residents in the town and along both the Ararat-Halls Gap Road and Pomonal Road for the first time.
Optus Mobile Access Planning manager, Vin Mullins, said, “It’s fantastic to be able to deliver dedicated Optus mobile coverage to the Pomonal community for the first time, enabling residents to stay connected with their friends and family through reliable voice and data access.
“This tower was included as part of the program following feedback from the local council and community, to improve mobile coverage that will help with emergencies and local tourism.”

“Optus is pleased to be partnering with the Victorian Government, working to identify key mobile blackspots across regional Victoria and bringing dedicated mobile coverage to these towns for the first time,” Mullins added.
He said Optus continued to invest in its network to improve coverage, reliability and speed across Australia.
