Vodafone joins NBN 250 and Ultrafast club

By

Vodafone is the latest RSP to give customers the option of NBN Co's recently announced 250Mbps and 500-1000Mbps services.

Vodafone's NBN 250 plan costs $135 a month, and the Ultra NBN plan costs $155.

Both are on a month-to-month basis and include unlimited data. A 4G back-up is provided if the customer purchases the Vodafone Wi-Fi Hub.

"Around 40% of our customers have chosen our Premium NBN plan (100Mbps) so we know that there is strong demand for higher speed plans in the Australian market," said Vodafone chief customer officer, Ana Bordeianu.

"Connected devices are on the rise in Australia, going from 17 devices per household in 2018 to an expected 37 devices per household by 2022. Couple this trend with increasing working from home, online homework, and streaming services, and it becomes even more important for Australians to have the right home broadband solution.

"At Vodafone we want to make sure that our plan suite evolves to reflect our customers' changing needs, and they have the freedom to enjoy the benefits of Vodafone NBN."

The NBN 250 and Ultra NBN plans are not available at all locations, and Vodafone did not indicate typical peak speeds.

All Vodafone plan prices can be reduced by bundling with other services under the company's Bundle and Save discount program.

Discounts on eligible plans start at 5% for two services and go up to 20% for five services.

Vodafone Hutchinson Australia was this week renamed TPG Telecom ahead of its merger with TPG Corporation (formerly TPG Telecom) which should be completed on 13 July.
